Precious Wood: Walnut Burl (Juglans regia)

The Burls are still synonymous of precious wood par excellence.

The Burl inlays offer us decorative fascinating surfaces able to give us a sense of amazement (Do you really think it is not remarkable?)

The Burls are a gift of Nature, making the wood precious. They can be present in various wood species such as Walnut, Ash, Poplar, but it is just an example.

The three-dimensionality of the Burl is rich in volutes and circular “eyes” due to the energetic and irregular development of the wood fibre.

The dyeing through the thickness of wood fibres (thickness 0,6 mm) enhances the three-dimensionality of the Burl sheet, making it velvety and luminescent to the eye and to the touch.

This inlay in the photo is manufactured using precious Walnut Burl, through a refined and elegant manual composition of Burl sheets according to a symmetric pattern. The result is this marvellous and charming inlay enhanced by the depth and three-dimensionality of the wood fibre presenting its peculiar Burl eyes: an elegant dance of shapes and a superb gift of Nature.

Thanks to the TABU LUXURY collection, involving 4 precious panels of Walnut and Ash Burl, the art and the typical craftsmanship of the luxury production are enhanced.

The sheets whose standard format is about 1260 x 2500/3060 mm are manufactured thanks to the most updated technology in laser cutting and the great manual skills to “assembly” the various wood pieces by interpreting the natural pattern of each species. The range is fleeced onto FSC® certified non-woven tissue, one of the key features of these sheets, facilitating enormously the carpentry work.

The sheets can be carried out and cut in a simpler way.
