12. Joining

The joining is the assembly phase of the veneers in a sheet of desired sizes . It can be carried out with different techniques:

  • stitching or zigzag: a polymeric thread is stitched on two adjacent veneers. The thread is removed after pressing
  • edge gluing: two veneer sheets are bonded by their edges. A perfect seal of the joints is obtained and sanding is possible up to 4/10
  • paper tape: a thin tape of pre-glued paper is used to repair any cracks. It is removed after pressing, during sanding.
